Moonlit Grove mandala is a 9″ x 12″ ink and watercolour on watercolour paper – mounted and cold wax finished on 1 1/2″ deep wood cradle with typed poem by TJ Radcliffe on cold wax finished watercolour paper mounted on attached 6″ x 9″ matching cradle. Creating mandalas is a meditative process for me drawing on childhood memories and life experience. A curious landscape with an orchard of ten apple trees, their Celtic-knotted branches reaching toward the night sky and the distant moon. Each tree embraces a single apple. The roots all around the rim are also connected with Celtic knots. A rabbit pauses below. There is a feeling of deep calm and yet alert watchfulness.
Frameless – ready to hang.
