I have been creating art for as long as I can remember, nurtured along the way by a supportive family. At university, I studied architecture and had a successful career in the field for many years but ultimately found it did not let my creative drive free in the same way painting does. Never-the-less, my architectural eye has informed my art as have stays in Asia, where I studied language and culture. Practicing Tai Chi for more than 25 years has strengthened my meditative and intuitive approach to painting and brought a sense of movement through time to my art. In 2017, I left architecture to focus on painting full time and since then have joined the Federation of Canadian Artists, been in multiple solo and group shows, and taught painting via demonstrations and workshops for local art groups.
