I will be the featured artist with a solo show Into the Woods, At the Edge of the Sea coming up at Free Spirit Gallery from 21 May to 15 June, 2024. Inspired by my local landscape, I am very excited to share this new series.
The Gabriola 2023 Thanksgiving Studio Tour was another success with people visiting from all over. As a result my art has flown off to even more places.
I was part of a few group shows in 2023 including the Tiny Show at the Free Spirit Gallery, the 4x4 Show sponsored by the Gabriola Arts Council, Rhythm, a juried show also sponsored by the Gabriola Arts Council, and the Winter - Small Works Show at the Free Spirit Gallery.
The Gabriola 2022 Thanksgiving Studio Tour was October 8-10. It was wonderful to meet people and share my art!
Elsa Bluethner and I founded the Gabriola Plein Air Painters in 2022. Meetups are ongoing. So check out our Facebook group or even better signup to get informed when we’ll head out and where!
Painting live en plein air at Cultivate this summer at the Gabriola Commons Saturday, July 2nd and Sunday, July 3rd, was a great chance to chat with all kinds of art lovers and a wonderful way to celebrate the Canada Day weekend!
I was the featured artist at a local gallery Spring, 2022! Free Spirit Gallery is a recent startup here and the local arts community is so happy to have this new gallery and shop. My art was featured from April 26 to June 4, 2022. My show was called “Whimsy” and highlights my more exploratory work over the past two years.
The plein air workshop at the IOTA Festival here on Gabriola with the amazing, imaginative and gifted painter Elsa Bluethner was a great success. This workshop was part demo and part talk about the delights of plein air painting as well as technical stuff like required equipment. The workshop was April 9, 2022.
Studio Tour 2021 was awesome! It was great to (safely) welcome people back to my studio. The Gabriola Island Thanksgiving Studio Tour was October 9th to 11th. There was so much to see both in my studio and at so many other artists’ studios - Gabriola Island, British Columbia is a very creative place!
